Todays christendom really mean it only if they encounter a big situation to witness our lord, lest they forget to be honest and witness in trivial things of life.
Jesus foretells the peter denial prophetically before he does. Ideally peter denial was not in front of the Great majesty courtyard or before the high priest (initially), the denial started with gatekeeper who is a young girl (John 18:17) and not widely known by anyone in that city.
Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, "You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you? "He said, "I am not."
Moreover peter could have thought this girl is not so important for him to answer honestly and at the same time he could have in pursuit of rescuing Jesus from those high parties where the young girl attention is not needed much and it is well known that she could not deliver Jesus from them. But though he has a good attitude of rescuing Jesus, failed to pay attention to the small young girl and refrained from honesty. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; But the Lord weighs the hearts. Pro21:2.
Eventually when we compromise in small things we end up the same in big things as peter denial end up with high priest servant and officers thereby later after the incident. Here peter is much concerned about Jesus rescue and could have been making plans to deliver him from high priest, and in that time he was Questioned by officers & servants and immediately he Denied (Luke 18:18 &25, 26) Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself!!!!!!!!!! "You are not also one of His disciples, are you? "He denied it and said, "I am not!" One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with Him?" Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.
Do we pay attention to watchmen who is standing in front of the court, Super market, Restaurant or shopping mall or wherever it could be, if we encounter such situation to be a witness in front of them who are least bothered in society and less cared by people? Are we witnessing Jesus before those set of people! Take a pause and look behind the days gone by in your life wherein you encountered such situation. if you would have come across one of such incidents then, it’s time for us to acknowledge those mistakes and get reconciled with lord, many will not realize the sin which they have committed or give much care which they have forgotten, it’s time to be on our knees before the lord and confess which you could remember and get reconciled with lord and come up with a new covenant to be honest and witnessing in all areas of our life even in our personal areas where no can see to it. Just Trust, it is going to give you an everlasting peace in your heart, as the Holy Spirit would start moving in your hearts whispering slowly i forgive

Though the way seems to be good in our Eyes, we should commit those to LORD before implementing. Do not take immediate action rather be patient & pray and act accordingly to circumstances. At times we need to step on faith as an immediate action; hence we should have a closer walk with god to grasp the voice of Holy Spirit
. If peter would have been aware of scriptures he would not have ended up in such situation of Denial, however the bible says the scripture has to be fulfilled and we read Jesus telling the same in many places. So we should have the knowledge of GOD which is of knowing the scriptures to understand the mind of Christ.
