Off late I have been seeing the churches are advancing in conducting prayer meetings like 24hours prayers, chain prayers, weekly prayers, monthly prayers etc. But actually most do not understood what is a prayer? and when it gets answered by our lord or how it gets answered? Recently I read one of the passages from Ravi Zacharias book. “Prayer is not a substitute for action but prayer undergirds action with the strength that makes the difference”. From this it made me to give the below illustration for this statement
If a bridge needs to be constructed it has to start off with pillar and then with pavement of connecting one end and the other or bridging the gap, only then it is called as bridge.
But in our Christendom we see only pillars built everywhere and no construction of joining the pillars which means there is no action after that. Do I need to take a cynical view that our Christians/pastors are fooling themselves??? Who started fooling? Starting from teachers/pastors??
