Don’t Find a church which is
closer to your house, rather find a church which is closer to the Bible – Paul washer
There are times when I
had question of how to select a good church? in fact many people are daunting
with this question and predominantly youngsters are looking for an answer. we
cannot say all churches are good and at the same time all churches are bad. Few
are bad, and few are good as well, but the important thing is, how to know
which is a right church for me to move on?
I’ve witnessed a quite number of people saying,
they need to stop going to the church because their enemies are coming to the
same church. Indeed, it is a wrong saying and contrary to Jesus Christ teaching,
as the lord says to love our enemies. Despite the saying we could not stand in
practical life.
A church is just a building, but
the bible says we are the temple of God, and each one of us are made unique by
God and HE has got a purpose for every individual. Every individual is given with
a unique talents, gifts etc.. we all are depended to each other to make the god
will to accomplish or come to pass. An eye cannot say to Nose saying, I am in
no need of you, and similarly a hand cannot say to Leg and vice versa, all the
members of our body has a unique purpose, value and role to play to make the
body to function.
Like wise we need people from
different kinds of race, culture, ethnic, ethos to meet the purpose and will of
god to come to pass.
This teaching is needed in church
and the church is meant for correction and reproof, which is both for the
sinner and for righteousness. Everyone has fallen short of glory. sinner walk into
the church and will walk out holy. If all are righteous then there is no need
of fellowship or churches. Every day is learning for us and we get sanctified
day by day by exercising our faith and applying the word of god practically in
our life.
It is impossible to have the
church filled fully with righteous people. This understand is heavily lacking
in our Christendom. We need to mentor each other, exhort each other with songs,
hymns and word of god. So that if one falls another can lift him up.
But It is very important to focus
on the leader of the church or the pastor who is leading the congregation to green pastures.
If pastor preaches a wrong doctrine and misleading interpretation of the word
of god then it is time to step out of the church and look for the good leadership
pastoral who is solidly built on the word of god, easily approachable, caring, empathize and sympathize to our needs, who can counsel us and eventually
direct us to green pastures.
I urge everyone to find a good
mentor who posses a good leadership role who can influence and impact human
life to goodness and show Christ in his attitude.
Leadership is not a power or authority
or administrative skills, a good leader is the one who set himself as an
example or role model to others. Who could show Jesus Christ in their way of
living and decision making. By doing this we can show Jesus Christ to this
world.
Pray and ask god for wisdom to Choose
to go to the right church and don’t be just a spectator of church, rather a partaker
